Getting Around
The A1, just 5 minutes away, provides Darlington with excellent links to Scotland to the North, and to the rest of England to the South. For International links, Teeside International Airport is just 10 minutes away, and Newcastle Airport around 40 minutes away.

Darlington also has one of the best rail links in the country, with a journey time of just 2.5 hours from Kings Cross, London, and the line continues straight through to Edinburgh.

Schools & Community
The standards of education in Darlington's schools are comparable with national standards. Local private schools of note include Polam Hall, Richmond, Scorton Grammar School and Yarm.

For further education, the Universities of Durham, Newcastle, Teeside and Leeds are all within easy reach of the town.

Business to Business
Darlington's excellent strategic position, with easy access to both Scotland and to the South of England, and its excellent rail service make it an ideal position for companies with
operations which span the two countries. In particular Hutchison Telecom (Orange) and Cummins (Engines) are major employers in the area.
